Judge dismisses fraternity members from wrongful death lawsuitPosted on Tue, Mar. 04, 2008
Reported that a federal judge has dismissed 62 members of a fraternity from a wrongful death lawsuit stemming from the fatal traffic accident that killed Shaheen.Shaheen. The judge ruled Monday that there is no evidence that members of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Murray State provided alcohol to Harrison Yonts, rather evidence indicated that Yonts took his own alcohol to the party and that there was no law requiring fraternity members to stop Yonts from driving after having too much to drink. Also reported that "Yonts was convicted in February of wanton murder, drunken driving and other charges in the crash."
