Top of page Article Reported that Iowa State University Police identified ISU student Shanda Rae Munn, age 20, as the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed Kelly Laughery. Police responded to a report of a person lying along Mortensen Road at approximately 4:27 a.m. and found Kelly Jean Laughery, age 20, who was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center, where she died as a result of injuries. Parents of former ISU student Kelly Laughery file lawsuit against Munn By: Jared Taylor / Daily Staff Writer Top of page Article Posted: 6/6/06 NEVADA - The parents of a student who was killed after being struck by a vehicle want compensation from the people they say were responsible for their daughter's premature death. Reported that the parents of Kelly Laughery filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Shanda Munn, Mark Scott, Munn's stepfather, ISU student Nicholas Tonelli, Kelly Campbell, who graduated in 2005; and former students Jody George and Tony Galante. The suit accused Munn is of drinking and becoming intoxicated at the party at the Sterling University Plains apartment leased by Tonelli, George and Galante. Campbell is accused of providing the keg of alcohol for the party. Also reported that Munn is being charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident where she could face up to 27 years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
