Roger Williams student dies in car wreck, friend charged with DUIMemorial held Wednesday afternoon9/17/08 01:30PM ArticleBy Ted Hayes Reported that "Timothy MacLeod, 21, of Plymouth, Mass., died when he was thrown from a car driven by his friend, Jamie Pretti, 21, also of Plymouth, after Mr. Pretti lost control of his car while traveling north over the Mt. Hope Bridge at about 11:30 p.m. Police said Mr. Pretti was driving drunk when he lost control of his Subaru, slammed into the walls on either side of the bridge and collided with an oncoming car near the base of the bridge in Bristol. Police said Mr. MacLeod, a front seat passenger, was thrown from the car. The driver of the other car was not injured."
