Recent Alcohol-Related Tragedies involving Iowa State University Students

Kelly Laughery, 20, December 3, 2005, Iowa State University                       How and why? A fellow ISU student who was driving drunk hit her and drove away.
Jonathan Lacina, 21, January, 22, 2010, Iowa State University How and why? Jonathan was last seen leaving a friend’s apartment at 9:30 one evening after attending a party where alcohol was served.  He remained missing until mid-April when his body was found in an abandoned campus farm building.  
Raven Nicole Gileau, 19, April 25, 2010, Iowa State University How and why? Raven was struck by a train early Sunday after drinking at an establishment near campus with friends.
Abel Bolanos, April 3, 2007, Iowa State University                       How and why?  Abel Bolanos left an off-campus party alone in the early morning hours of March 31. His body was found in Lake LaVerne on April 3.
